I first learned about the dog meat trade when I was transitioning to using cruelty-free products. At this time, I found No Dogs Left Behind. I liked their mission and everything they stood for. When I was looking to adopt a dog, I knew I wanted to adopt from NDLB.
It’s been nearly a month since Muffin (formerly Monroe) first arrived to the US. Muffin has adjusted quite well. She made herself at home the moment she stepped foot into the house. I’m pleasantly surprised by how quick she has learned to trust not only me but also other members of my family. She loves pets and belly rubs, going for walks, hanging out in the kitchen or wherever there’s food, cuddles, and napping between my legs. She wiggles the back half of her body like crazy when she’s happy or excited about something. It’s an absolute joy to see.
I’ve been asked multiple times on our walks where I got her, and I love the opportunity I get to tell others about where she came from and NDLB. My experience with NDLB has been nothing but positive. I greatly appreciated the pictures and videos that were sent. I watched them multiple times a day and loved and missed her before we even met. I want to thank Jeff and the entire team that gave Muffin a second chance and took care of her until she came home.
