I adopted Chevy back in July knowing that I would potentially not be able to bring him home for up to 8 months due to COVID. Still, I signed up for the wait because I knew he was my dog the moment I saw his sweet little face. Chevy landed in NYC on November 27 and he was immediately my shadow, wherever I went he would follow; he knew right away that I was his person. Considering all that he had gone through, I could tell that he was very well cared for and I have NDLB to thank for that.
Chevy was scared of nearly everything when I first brought him home, but he is slowly learning that the world is not always a scary place. I can’t imagine my life without Chevy and I am so thankful for NDLB for giving Chevy, along with countless other dogs, a second chance at the life they truly deserve. Everyone from NDLB was such a great help and support during this process and choosing to adopt through them was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The wait was truly worth it and I’m so happy that I get to call Chevy mine.
