We’ve always dreamed of having a golden retriever. I thought we might never find a golden in a New York City area rescue until I saw Georgia listed on the No Dogs Left Behind website. We adopted her soon after the COVID-19 pandemic hit, which meant her transport was delayed by several months.
While we waited for Georgia to get on a flight, the NDLB team sent us videos in which we saw Georgia transform from timid and nervous to happy and confident under NDLB’s care. While we were anxious for our dog to come home, we appreciated NDLB’s frequent communication and the Facebook group they created for fellow adopters. When Georgia finally came home, we fell even more in love with her.
She immediately started asking for affection, playing with her toys, and looking forward to walks.
I know she adjusted quickly to our home because the NDLB team took such good care of her. We couldn’t be happier with our sweet girl Georgia.
